The service and your agreement
TRG JAPAN LLC, Florida, United States, operates TRG Japan. Contact support@trgjapan.com for account, billing, or contract questions. Our support response target is 24–48 hours. These terms apply to the website and our live Japanese lessons. Review the price, renewal information, classroom requirements, and cancellation rules before paying. The privacy notice and cancellation policy explain the related practices.
Eligibility and guardian accounts
Learners must be at least 13 years old. Account holders must be adults legally able to enter this agreement. A parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account, bookings, payments, and required permissions for every learner under 18. Provide accurate information and keep credentials private. Teachers and administrators join by invitation. Teachers may choose to accept only learners aged 18 and over; this restriction applies to every participant, including group guests.
Lessons, prices, and availability
One credit books a 50-minute lesson, subject to teacher availability and eligibility. Prices and charges are in USD; your payment provider may apply currency-conversion fees. The pricing page and checkout show the price and included allowance before purchase. Selecting a time does not reserve it; a lesson is confirmed only after booking succeeds. Classroom access uses Discord, Google Meet, or a unique staff-assisted Zoom backup. Learners aged 13–15 use Google Meet. Ages 16–17 may use Discord only with guardian permission. You are responsible for a suitable connection and compatible device.
Monthly subscriptions and renewal
Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically at the disclosed price unless renewal is cancelled before the current paid period ends. Cancel using Stop subscription renewal on the Billing page or the billing settings; contact support if those controls are unavailable. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Ordinary subscription cancellation receives no refund, including no prorated refund. Your mandatory consumer cancellation and refund rights always take priority.
Credits and active rollover
Credits become available after payment is confirmed. While a subscription remains active, unused subscription credits can roll over up to twice that plan’s monthly allowance. When the subscription ends, all remaining subscription credits expire at the end of its final paid period and cannot be rolled over or spent afterward. Use means confirming a booking while the credit is valid; an already confirmed lesson remains booked. Separately purchased single-lesson and extra credits do not expire. Subscription credits are used before purchased credits. Credits already issued under an earlier non-expiring promise retain that entitlement.
Plan changes
The billing settings show any upgrade charge and the effective date of a plan change before confirmation. A paid immediate upgrade adds only the additional allowance for the current period. Downgrades normally begin at renewal. Do not assume a change has taken effect until billing confirms it. These rules do not reduce a mandatory refund or cancellation right.
Student lesson cancellations and rescheduling
The change window is at least 24 hours before the lesson for Single and Beginner, 12 hours for Intermediate, and until the lesson begins for Advanced. An eligible cancellation restores the original credit. Restored subscription credits remain part of the same continuing subscription entitlement and expire when that subscription ends; cancellation does not revive expired credits. Purchased credits remain non-expiring. Rescheduling uses the existing credit. Late cancellations and no-shows ordinarily do not restore a credit. Ordinary student lesson cancellation does not provide a monetary refund unless applicable law requires one.
TRG Japan or instructor cancellation and refunds
If TRG Japan or an instructor cancels a paid lesson, we arrange a monetary refund. A subscription-funded lesson is refunded at the amount actually paid for its relevant subscription period divided by that period’s included lesson allowance; a separately purchased lesson is refunded at its actual purchase price. Refunds never exceed the amount actually paid. We normally initiate the refund within seven business days of cancellation. Business days are Monday–Friday in Japan time, excluding observed United States federal holidays and Japanese public holidays. Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to post the refund. We do not also restore a usable credit for the same refunded lesson. If a lesson is not provided as promised, contact support so we can provide the remedy required by the circumstances and applicable law.
Optional recording and adult marketing
Recording and marketing are separate, optional permissions. Recordings may support learner playback and teacher training or quality review. Lessons may be recorded only after the intended purposes and arrangements are explained and every participant, the teacher, and any required guardian agree to that specific recording. Declining recording does not remove access to lessons. Teachers may offer recorded sessions, unrecorded sessions, or either; discovery and new bookings match the selected learner’s preference. Choose an unrecorded-compatible teacher if you decline recording. Withdrawing recording permission does not automatically cancel an existing booking, and recording must stop; contact support if a teacher can no longer deliver the lesson without recording. You can withdraw recording permission on the Learners page and ask the teacher to stop recording during a lesson. Adult learners may separately opt in to promotional use; we must confirm the specific material and intended publication before using it. Learners under 18 are never included in marketing, even with guardian permission. Recording permission alone does not authorize marketing. Withdraw marketing permission through the Learners page or support; we stop new use and remove material we control where feasible, although third-party copies may remain.
Personal social media sharing
Teachers and adult learners may share lesson material on their personal social media profiles only with separate permission from the teacher and every adult learner shown or heard. Recording permission or TRG marketing permission does not authorize a personal post. The permission is a standing choice covering lesson material on participating adults’ and the teacher’s personal profiles, including a public audience; separate approval is not required for each post within that scope. It does not authorize new purposes or use beyond that scope. Declining public sharing does not affect lesson access. Learners under 18 must never appear in public lesson posts, including personal social media. Users who post approved material must respect the agreed scope and requests to stop new use or remove material they control. Manage your standing permission through the portal or contact support to withdraw; third-party copies may remain.
Reporting and misuse of shared content
Report concerning or negatively portrayed interactions to support@trgjapan.com so we can investigate. Harassment, disclosure of private information, false defamatory statements, and deceptive editing that materially misrepresents an interaction are prohibited. We may restrict misuse and seek lawful remedies, including legal action where legally justified. Honest reviews, criticism, complaints, safeguarding reports, and reports to authorities remain permitted and do not require prior approval; negative sentiment alone is not a breach of these terms.
Classroom conduct and account restrictions
Respect teacher directions, other participants, privacy, and classroom boundaries. Do not share private meeting links or invitations, harass others, or record without permission. Teachers must not privately message minors. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect participants, investigate misuse, or comply with law. We will explain the action where lawful and consider requests to review it. Suspension or closure does not remove applicable rights relating to unused paid services or refunds.
International customers and mandatory rights
We welcome eligible customers internationally, subject to service availability, lawful payment processing, and applicable local requirements. Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory protections, cancellation rights, remedies, or access to courts that apply where you live. Florida law governs only to the extent permitted by those protections. We do not impose compulsory arbitration or require you to waive statutory rights. Contact support to raise a dispute or request the seller information applicable to your purchase.
Changes to these terms
We identify revisions by date and version and give notice before material changes apply to an existing customer. We seek renewed agreement where required. A later policy does not retroactively remove an existing non-expiring credit entitlement. If a material change is unacceptable, you may stop renewal and exercise any rights provided by applicable law.
