Safeguarding

Lesson spaces should feel safe, visible, and accountable.

Our technical controls support—not replace—professional safeguarding practice and teacher vetting.

Age-aware classrooms

Learners must be at least 13. A guardian manages every learner under 18. Teachers may accept only ages 18 and over, including all group guests. Learners aged 13–15 use a teacher-owned Google Meet. Learners aged 16–17 may use Discord only with recorded guardian consent. Guardians manage lessons and consent on this website and do not need a Discord account. Classroom access is for attending learners, the assigned teacher, and designated safeguarding staff.

Communication boundaries

Teachers must not privately message minor learners. Lesson communication stays in the authorized classroom, where access and lifecycle events can be audited.

Guardian control

A guardian owns billing, consent, booking, and learner-profile management for minors. Guest learners must be eligible and accept before a classroom is provisioned.

Recording and marketing

Recording is optional and requires separate permission from every participant and the teacher, including any required guardian permission. Declining recording does not affect lesson access. Adult promotional use requires a separate opt-in and specific asset approval. Personal social media sharing requires separate permission from the teacher and every adult learner shown or heard. Learners under 18 are never included in marketing or public lesson posts.

Reporting and retention

Safeguarding reports and audit events are restricted to authorized administrators. Escalate concerns to admin@trgjapan.com or use the safeguarding topic on our contact form. Our support response target is 24–48 hours. Specific retention periods and regional obligations remain subject to review. Contact local emergency services if someone is at immediate risk.
